OverLens – Privacy Policy

We collect no data
OverLens collects no data of any kind. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics SDKs, and the app makes no network requests to us or to any third party. The App Store privacy label for OverLens is "Data Not Collected".
Your screen is processed on your device only
In live mode, OverLens uses the iOS screen-sharing feature (which you start explicitly through the system dialog) to read the screen image, recognize text on it, and translate that text. All of this happens on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's on-device text recognition and translation. Screen frames are processed in memory and immediately discarded. Your screen content is never recorded, never stored, and never leaves your device.
You are always in control of capture
Live translation only runs after you start it in the system broadcast dialog. While it runs, iOS shows the red system capture indicator and the floating window shows a LIVE badge. You can stop at any time from the status bar or from within the app.
Images you translate
In screenshot mode, images you pick or paste are analyzed on your device only and are not uploaded anywhere. OverLens uses the system photo picker, which lets you choose an image without granting the app access to your photo library.
Translation history stays on your device
Your translation history and saved phrases are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app permanently deletes them. If you export your history as a CSV file, the export goes only where you choose to share it.
Language packs
Offline translation uses Apple's system translation language packs. If a language pack is not yet on your device, iOS downloads it from Apple; this download is handled by the operating system under Apple's privacy policy and does not involve your screen content.
No ads, no tracking
OverLens contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking of any kind.
In-app purchases
The optional one-time Pro purchase is processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store any payment information.
Children's privacy
OverLens is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children — indeed, it collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
